Is a "new generation LT" a for sure?

Just wondering after seeing the new press release for the Kaw Connie 14 which is the "next generation" after 20 years, if BMW really has the demand in numbers to support bringing out a fully re-engineered 12LT replacement.

I mean, why go to the trouble if you already have a nice bike that just needs good upgrades.

Eventually, yes. The current platform still works fine, as many here can attest to. But BMW is going lighter/faster/more powerful throughout their model range. I can't see them keeping the LT as the only bike with the flying brick motor indefinitely.

The real question is when?

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
