Temperature sensor

After changing my antifreeze I was reinstalling the temp sensor and it twisted in two pieces, bummer.
The shop manual calls for a torque setting of 9 nm which is what I had set in my torque wrench. As I was tighting it down I heard a click before the torque wrench clicked, bad news, the temp sensor has gone from one piece to two pieces.
Naturally the dealer doesn't stock this item $16.00 so they have to order one. I am now waiting.
Just wanted to share this.

You sure you were using your inch and not your foot pound torque wrench?

I was using NM Newton Meters(I think thats what NM means.
It may have been a stress fracture in the sensor as I picked up a new one today and put it in using the 9NM with no problem.
It's always something.
