Take THIS you "top speed" braggers!!!

OK, I've had my '04 LT since June, and am a religious reader and follower of the expert advice on here, with thanks and gratitude for the friendship and help of all who post.

I was a little put off by the bragging of the 05 and 06 owners who have more HP and a little higher top end than those of us with older bikes. The other day I won a chunk of money on the texas lottery and added a remus exhaust, a NOS system, snipped every brown wire on the bike, added a K&N cold air intake, removed the cannister, changed the suspension, got a custom windshield, made sure I had the air pressure right on my metzelers, polished every inch with teflon-based wax, and stopped at the local 7-11 and put...and I think this is the difference-maker...super ultra premium fuel in her.

Read this top speed on my garmin and weep, you 06 owning bastages!!!

Just wondering...

Do you use your GPS in an airplane as well???
Or is it a sticker that comes applied to the screen of the GPS when you buy it, kinda like the photo of a beautiful woman in a new picture frame???
If neither, then I need to get me some of that gaz-o-leen you put in your tank!!!

every now and then a gps wil lloose it signal and pick it just a little futher down the road, then you get some strange max speed reading, i have had 300something mph (i forget now) but right now my 276c shows 200mph as a max speed , I actually think my 276c is worse at this than my spIII was, it seems to happen more often now,

hmmmph

awww, you SUCK, Brian!

laughing

(and mine came up with the weird "max speed" when I upgraded to north america NT v 8.0 last week when the dvd arrived from Garmin, I suppose I could take it up in an airplane, but to get Brian's reading, it would have to be an F/A-18 with a cigarette plug!)

Hey, does anyone know of a source for additional Garmin voices other than those on the garmin website? I didn't like tom tom's gps enough to buy it, but thought that you could download celebrity voices like Catherine Zeta-Jones and John Cleese was a riotious idea..."American Jill" ain't quite doing it for me on the 2730...

Captain,

At that speed, how can you calculate advance and transfer quickly enough to make the next turn? That must make for some exciting times in the wheelhouse.

Howard it is like flying in a plane you dont even notice, look out the windows and it still looks like you are doing 7 or 8 mph. amazing simply amazing.

Howard what is really wild is to consider the top speed of an aircraft carrier, something so large going so fast, mind boggling to say the least.

Question New 2610, how to mount??

Just got a new (refurbished) 2610 and I am a little bit puzzled as I thought the thing would mount right up on the factory thing that is already on the bike. Not so, there is a swiveling jig in the back/bottom that I can't imagine will fit the stock BMW mount, what do I need to do??

post a photo of it for us...I am guessing you'll have to purchase a garmin bracket (about 40 bucks...see my thread under GPS).
