Throttle cable replacment help

I am replacing my throttles cables on my 02Lt I ordered these cables for the 05 conversion
327 376 944 90 - Throttle
327 376 944 91 - Acc. Cable
327 276 919 90 - Repair Kit
the cables fit great but the kit came with only one piece, picture enclosed. Should the kit contain more then one piece how does not it hold the cable secure because my outer piece on my 02 does not not fit with kit/conversion thanks Stan

There should be 2 plastic pieces; the backing plate that screws to the inner hand grip housing. This also supports the cable on the inside. The outer piece covers the cables (forms a sandwich with the inner plate) and screws to the inner plate.

The original inner plate can be cut off from around the grip with a pair of dykes; the replacement is semi-circular and does not need to fit around the grip (just screw it in place). Role the grip back to gain access to the screws with your screwdriver.

The lower handlebar cover needs to be replaced, too. Or, you can hack the old one, but not as nice looking.

My dealer replaced mine. They replaced the lower handlebar cover. From the outside it looks the same but it is expensive so many have just modified the old one. They claim it works so you might want to save some money and do it that way.
