Does anyone have a spare EHCS Module?

The bike I am working on has all three issues going on with the CS. Leaking seals, bad motor and no voltage to the plug. I pulled the relay and tested it. Good. Wiring and ground is patent. I am getting the 4hz lightning bolt flash when the button is pressed. I have verified there are no LED's in the tail light and no fuses are blown.
All that to say I am looking for a used module now because I feel like I have run out of options.

You also must have side stand up and be in neutral with no brake applied (or brake light on). Also there is a tilt sensor so you must be upright. I have yet to see a bad controller

Re: Does anyone have a spare EHCS Module?

The bike is on the lift, on the center, no brakes or lights. I have checked with the center up as well so as to not mess with deploy sensor. I have unplugged the deploy sensor and tried that too. The side stand is up. Where is the tilt sensor so I can check that too? I feel like I am doing everything I can aside from running another switch to the relay and bypassing the module. There is power on the hot 12v side of the relay. There is just no signal to set it off. Is there something in the relay/fuse block under the tank that could be bad? Oh yeah, brand new fully charged battery as well.

Re: Does anyone have a spare EHCS Module?

For what it's worth, mondrage (see post #6 of the thread "Re: K1200LT EHCS Centerstand Issues") has a spare. Unfortunately, he lives in Nicaragua, so that probably wouldn't help Kirk much in Illinois...

Does anyone have a spare EHCS Module?

I'll be traveling to Milwaukee in two weeks.
If you still need it by then let me know.

I haven't received yet, but I should have it this week, after it goes through customs.

Re: Does anyone have a spare EHCS Module?

YIt will do nothing if the center stand is deployed except flash a light. You need to check it with the front wheel in a chock and the cs up.

I did do that as well. Thankfully I got it running again. It turned out to be a combo platter of a bad motor, ground and corrosion in the sealed connector. Now I need a drink! Thank you for all the help!

Re: Does anyone have a spare EHCS Module?

Posting my experience so is documented:

I had the same issue as described in the thread start, flashing EHCS yellow light @4Hz and the lightning symbol on the board computer display. This after a full clutch job.
I disconnected the EHCS motor plug under the bike, used a spare battery (12V) and appropriate copper leads to power the EHCS motor until the center stand started to move down, but not all the way. After that the error was gone, the EHCS works again.

Re: Does anyone have a spare EHCS Module?

Having problems myself now with the EHCS, I moved the bike to do some work in the garage and the center stand worked. Come to park it back up in the garage and nothing, all I get is the center stand warning light flashing . I can hear just hear a relay clicking on and off when I press the stand button. The battery is just over 12 volts at the moment, and connections look good on the battery and the terminal blocks by the battery. Checked the brake lights and they are working alright and have normal bulbs in them. Any ideas where to start with looking for the fault?

Re: Does anyone have a spare EHCS Module?

I would pull the electric motor and see if it works or not. Check the 12v down there while you are at it.

Check this out, in case you need to find a motor. But also check if the piston has fluid:

The motor does need the oil changing as must be well knackered by now, I have new seals somewhere as it was on the list of things to do, miss placed them at the moment as moved house and still in a packing box. Some of the links unfortunately do not work.

Re: Does anyone have a spare EHCS Module?

You can find the motors on ebay they are starter motors for a Honda CH80 Elite scooter. Some times the motors develop corrosion on the brush ground screw. You can open it up but hold the geared shaft with a vise or pliers when you pull off the magnetic housing that way the brushes stay on the commutator.

Re: Does anyone have a spare EHCS Module?

Apologises in the long delay in getting back to you. Finally got around to looking at the bike today. The motor stand motor is dead, opened it up and the brushes had completely worn out all that was left was the brush springs. Now the hunt begins to find a new motor at a reasonable price.
