Extended Warrantee

Has anyone had any experience with an extended warrantee that is honored in more than just the location you purchased it at? I was ready to purchase one in Atlanta but when I called the dealerships in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami they indicated they would have to take a long hard look at it before they could do any work and most likely I would have to pay up front and try to get reimbursed later.

I'm getting ready to switch from Harleys to BMW's but in the Harley world the motor company offers an extended warrantee which is honored by all dealers. Who out there has had a good experience I can replicate?

Thanks.

extended warranty OR certified pre-owned???

I got the dream deal of a lifetime on my used 04 LT, only had 8,400 miles on it and was certified pre-owned thru atlanta BMW, meaning it had full warranty coverage through BMW until 2009 OR 50K miles. As though brand new.

Now if that's an option, hop all over it, mine already saved me over a grand.

If you're talking a third party offering to sell you an extended warranty, you'd better spend a weekend reading fine print, because more ISN'T gonna' be covered than IS...

I had the pinnacle on my 2000LT. I live in Virginia and on my way back from CCR from Breckenridge, my final drive went out. Even though Denver BMW did not know anything about the pinnacle insurance I paid it with my credit card and got fully reimbursed by pinnacle. Of course all repairs are suppose to be pre-approved by them, but I told them that it was a holiday weekend and I was not about to spend three days in Denver when I could be back on the road in three hours. BMW roadside assistance insurance even reimbursed my 200 mile towing bill even though I used a private company to tow my bike.
