Handling better '05 to '07?

I'm going to buy a used 1200LT. Is there a noticeable difference in the handling of the pre '05 to '07 models versus the models produced prior to the changes BMW made?

Thanks.

Handling

Two magazines I trust, MCN and Rider, both claim the 2005 and up years handle slightly better. Me, I think my old ones (1999 & 2000) handle fine.

Have owned an 03 and now an 05. There is a very slight improvement in handling due to change in rake on the front end and the seat position is lower. Resulting in a slight lowering of the center of gravity. I had Ohlins on the 03 and have them on the 05 and these shocks do lift the bike up slightly, so I have gotten use to the LT's higher center of gravity. Both LT's handled fine from my view point.

may we never find the end of the road!

Your best bet is to ride an older and a newer bike and see for yourself. Preferably close together. At anything over 5 mph the differences are minimal.

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
