Lightbulb Oil (filter) Thread!!!!

I have been digging through several web sites and this site to gather filter data, then did a little price shopping locally(Dallas) (not on the web) this is what I came up with:

3/4 " by 16 tpi thread
(I'm sure there are more , this is just what my web searches produced.)

BMW (kit) 11002300053 $21 (no paint, well letters)
Napa Gold FIL 1348 $5.79(? by Wix, gold paint)
K&N BK 7355551 $11.99
Purolator PurOne PL10241 $5.39 (Peel off label)(nice blue paint)
Mobil-1 M1-102 $9.99 (gloss black,peel-off label)
Wix 51348 $4.95
SuperTech 3614 $2.07 (? by Fram, no Hand-Grip coating)
Fram 6063 $3.84 (has Hand-Grip coating on end)
Amsoil EaoM -122 $17.00
Bosch 3330 $5.99 (made by Purolator , flaking black paint)
Bosch 72161 $6.59 (? Purolator--nice gloss black paint.)
MicroGuard GL10241 $3.29 (by Purolator )
Purolator ML16825 $4.89
Purolator PL25230 $5.99

Besides the BMW kit,I have used the PureONE and the Mobil-1, no paint loosening nor flaking.
They are heavier (by weight) than most of the others.
One day when I get a little more time ,I'll take my cutter (for my aircraft filters and open them up to see the innards.

The Bosch 72161 is the filter that Beemerboneyard sells and is suppose to fit the BMW filter wrench. It looks as if it is available from Advance Auto Parts for that price.

You can get the Bosch filter from www.rockauto.com by typing in 72161 in the part search window for $4.13 each.
