Speaker/Amp Upgrade?

Anyone upgrade thier speokers or wattage on thier LT? Or have ideas for it. I don't like loud pipes, but music should be loud enough to hear without distortion. Get distortion at highway speed, and sometimes it is not even loud enough to hear...clearly anyway.

Thanks.

Smile Speaker upgrade

Hi,
Usually lurk, but have an opinion on speakers. For me the only way to go is headphones in the helmet. Does several things: 1) cuts wind noise, 2) you can get excellent sound quality and separation with good headsets (I'm using J&M) 3) you don't disturb those around you when you are riding slowing through neighborhoods or pull up to a stop light. I absolutely hate GW or Harley riders that pull up with their choice of music blaring at a stoplight. Don't like them anymore than the kids with their booming stereos in their cars! As a former musician, I love loud music too...The BMW stuff is great a low speeds or sitting in the garage. Of course, just one man's opinion. Best, Bob

I UPGRADED MINE WITH ALPINE 5 1/4" - Great Sound!

Here's a link to an earlier thread with a lot of information: http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthre...hlight=speaker

I replaced mine with some Alpine Co-axials - (rear only) and the difference was amazing. Did not go with full marines, just made sure they had a poly cone. The guys at Freeman's audio said they install them all the time in boats and they hold up well. I just don't drown them with the garden hose, but then, I don't suppose you should do that anyway. Hope this helps.

What windshield are you running? After I changed to Cee Bailey's the wind noise went down so much I can hear the radio without having to crank it up to full volume.

noise, speakers, and wish list

Have the standard windshield.

The Cee Bailey is on my noise reduction list

My comfort lists includes bluetooth helmets to go with my new comm system and now, rear speakers. I will read more about the speakers, but sounds like the power is good enough.

AND I just sold my Goldwing and am flush with cash.

Visibility Stuff
Comfort Stuff
and maybe even a $110 cup holder just to be ostentatious.

Maybe a strobe light to go in the visibility column which would be as cool as the leaf blower and my loud music around the Saturday night bon fire.

OR, maybe I should save my cash for the 12K and 24K service.

Speakers

What is involved with replacing the speakers on an 06LT? Does anyone have recommendations on which speakers to replace the OEM with? A previous post mentioned Alpine, but he did not use the marine version, I'm curious as to why not? Any one else have a recommendation?
