Help. GPS plug in

When I got my 05 it had the mount and GPS harness on it. I bought a Navigator 3 and figured it would be simple plug and go. No power. Took off Tupperware to discover harness is not plugged in. I can't find where to plug in my harness under the Tupperware. Any help?

Re: Help. GPS plug in

The two plug-ins are on the underside of the stingray's left side in about the mid-section. I don't have any pictures of the plugs when I removed mine from my '07, but you can see the parts included in the Nav system on MAX BMW's microfiche. I believe the part number for the connector cable is 09 7160 7 687 850

Re: Help. GPS plug in

All I can find is a bunch of wires capped and bundled together. I may just wire the power wire and forget the rest! It is frustrating!

Just went though the same thing with my 05. You need a plug in adaptor For the harness for the nav111. Part number 61127689956. It is $42.75 from bmw.

Re: Help. GPS plug in

From your description, it sounds like the previous owner removed the original GPS unit, leaving everything else intact, but may have cut off the original plugs and taped all wiring off except the power and ground for the replacement system, as the wiring loom from the cradle to the underside of the stingray plugs into stingray-mounted receptacles. The stingray (with the attached GPS) lifts off the bike, once unplugged from the 6(?) plug-ins on the front of the bike, and antenna lead and another plug on rear.

In my case, I bought a Garmin 590LM and tied back and taped off the original harness plug-ins, and powered the new unit through a switched/unswitched power block (Centech AP-2).
