OUCH - Lesson learned

Needed plugs for the new to me 2000 LT. Researched and decided to go with the OEM plugs from Bosch. Napa said $6.59 each and 2 days. I worked out of town yesterday and near a BMW/DUCATI dealer so went there to get some. Said I would take 4 and never asked the price. I figured maybe 8 bucks a piece for the convenience. When he told me the total was $62.50 I was so shocked I just paid and left.

NEVER AGAIN. Lesson learned.

Re: OUCH - Lesson learned

Well.... the Max BMW parts catalog lists the Bosch XR7LDC @ about 15 Dollars. So that's the Dealer price.
However You can find them elsewhere for less $$$

http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-XR7LDC-S.../dp/B001D0HU04

I use the OEM brand.
Some Folks use other brands.

Re: OUCH - Lesson learned

I always got my service supplies from Beemer Boneyard, back when I had the LT. Great prices.

The plugs for a K16 are even more precious. Why? Because the K16 has a spark plug that is used on that engine only! MSRP of about $23 each (and you need 6!). You can't get them anywhere but the $tealer.

Just make sure you don't get charged the $13.50 shipping per plug

Price: $5.00 + $13.50 shipping
