Hydraulic stand aand abs flashing

Hi there, This community has saved me many times for which I am grateful. This morning my 1200lt was reluctant to start but eventually did, I rode it for about 10 miles and went to put it on stand, the hydraulic stand indicator light was flashing furiously and the stand wasn't working, then the abs warning lights started to flash, hence no asb brakes, any ideas??>?? Appreciation in advance, the abs modulator had been changed two years ago, so hopefully no reoccurance,

Battery? That could cause multiple seemingly unrelated failures or warning lights.

Re: Hydraulic stand aand abs flashing

Hi all, just an update, battery when meter was on it read 13.1 going up to 14.3 with bike started. So I guess its not that. The abs light was flashing very quick. I disconnected battery, reconnected it, then manually pushed up the stand, needs a service anyway, as it retracts slowly, the abs light flashed normal, and had brakes, then the hydraulic stand started operating again. Not sure what I did to rectify it, or if it will stay working,

Bummer. I was hoping you'd find a bad battery. They ain't cheap per se, but cheaper and easier than most other things. Hopefully it stays working, but be cautious taking her very far for the next while.

How cold is it there? (How cold was it when you first started the bike?)

Had same problem a while back, turned out to be the battery despite all things checking out voltage wise. But once load was on battery voltage dropped to nine volts. Multitude of problems were happening sometimes stat other times narder. Get battery load checked.

Re: Hydraulic stand aand abs flashing

If you can find an analog volt meter, you could see what the battery drops down to during cranking. Can't do that with a digital meter.

Another vote for the battery. As they go bad then can maintain a full surface charge but draw down drastically under load. Imagine wiring nine AA batteries in series and trying to crank the bike with 'em.

Also at 9 degrees a failing battery can freeze. I think. Or I've been snookered by garage legends.
