Wink Proud new and excited owner of 06' LT

Well, after six months of deliberation, I picked up my new LT from Touch of Class BMW in New Jersey to coincide with my 52nd birthday. So far in five days, I've managed only 260 miles, and find the bike better than expected. The comfort, convenience, and all the great little gadgets and features are just great. I'm still keeping my 01'F650GS and 02' R1150GS because I like them too. Now I can spend years modifying the LT and learning all its little intricacies.

Congrats on the new bike...and don't worry about pics. Before you know it, you'll have folders and folders full of pics. With each new mod, and each trip.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I found this forum to be most helpful, and have made some acquaintances already who live in my area. There is so much to learn about the LT. I'll be busy for years!

Thumbs up Welcome

Welcome to the world of LT riding. I myself acquired my LT back in July. It is a wonderful bike. Last weekend I took my first extended ride on the LT and visited my son at the University of Virginia. The LT is superb in the main roads (can’t avoid them all the time) and fantastic (for my style of riding) on the back roads (took the Skyline Drive in Virginia for part of the return trip).

Enjoy your new bike.

Congratulations!

I picked up my new K1200LT a couple of weeks ago! I'm enjoying mine as well. Most of the 'extras' haven't arrived yet, but I growing to like it more and more! For example, I didn't know that the dashboard displays a 'reddish-orange' color at night! Pretty interesting and it makes it easier to see!

Ride safe!

Congratulations!!!

I picked mine up last Wednesday but only have ~300 miles on it. The break in for 600 miles at no more than 4000 rpms is surprising as at 3900 rpms on a flat road the speedo says 78 mph....

This thing really loves the highway. My came with the NAV III as a promotional 'freebe'. Just got the letter from BMW saying it was on the way. It is taking some getting used to re the weight at stops and the fact the brakes really work (as opposed to my old HD Road King).. MAn the horn is like a Mac truck!

Best of luck and safe riding to all.

Gene

Congrats. I know how you feel.

Got my '06 from Hermy's, Port Clinton, PA on 8/1/06. Got over 3,000 and each mile sprouts a wider grin. One great bike. Enjoy!

Congrats! I've been riding BMW's for 32 years - have had em' all at one time or another - am on my second KLT('05), and at age 68, hope to have a couple more before my riding days are over. Just returned from doing the Alps on a R1150R, and it performed well, but I missed being on my KLT. I really love mine and wouldn't trade it for all the GW's or H-D's in all of Georgia! Enjoy....

Congrats and safe riding!

How was your experience with Touch of Class? I'm thinking about buying from them.
