Rear foot peg is floppin'

I have an 03 LT and every once in a while I will find the right passenger footpeg down after a short ride. I used to think I was bumping it, but it is down more often than it should be. Is there any "Trick" that I can do to get it to stay up?

There's a spring-loaded ball in the footpeg base; if the ball gets stuck in the footpeg body (e.g., corrosion), it can't help, um, "keep it up" Remove the e-clip on the end of the retaining pin, tap out the pin, then pull out the footpeg -- note there's a thin plate alongside the peg; be prepared to catch it and the ball and spring.
