It seems that my 2005 LT makes slightly more noise then before when hot.

I looked with a small mirror to see if the exhaust is cracked around the joints but it looks fine for what I can see without taking the exhaust off which I might do when I get new gaskets and some bolts.
Could the valves be slightly tight and make noise. This is only when its hot, when started it seems fine. I have 55,000 miles and I did check the valves at 48,000 and they seemed fine and within tolerences.
Should I check again when I do the exhaust in a few weeks.

Any shared knowledge would be appreciated.

I had two exhaust header breaks on mine (many years ago), and it was not visible until the exhaust was removed. Even after it was removed, I did not see it right away. The breaks on mine were where the flange is welded to the pipe, and it is up inside the flange, so not visible when on the bike.

You can tell if that is the case by loosening the exhaust header nuts a couple turns, then try twisting the flanges back and forth. If they move at all, they are broken. Once the exhaust is off, this is an easy weld repair by any competent welder. The welder that did mine re-welded all four, with a wider bead than stock. Never had a problem with them again.
