Powerlet sockets

I picked up a power cord from Burnsmoto so I could charge my phone and found out the hard way that 2 of my 3 Powerlet sockets are hot all the time. My lower, right outlet was a little corroded so I thought I would clean it off. A few sparks while cleaning it but the good news is I was able to a least find what fuse protects the two lower sockets! Is that normal to hook them up hot so they always have power? Iím assuming the PO/original owner had BMW dealer in NYC install them when he bought it.

Re: Powerlet sockets

The harness is wired that way. Even if you don't have the socket the wires and connector are there and always hot.

Re: Powerlet sockets

If they weren't hot all the time, you couldn't connect a battery charger to them.
