Sena SMH10 mono?

My wife and I have the Sena SMH10 in our helmets. She is deaf in her left ear, which causes very poor music quality (the midrange overrides the other ranges). I looked around on the 'net to see if I could find a way to set it to mono (hopefully right ear), but couldn't find anything.

Anyone have any similar issue and you found a solution, or anyone know how to change the setup?

TIA,
Larry

Re: Sena SMH10 mono?

Well, I had an "aha!" moment. I simply set her iPhone to mono, right only. This should work. Plus when she runs with her ear buds it should help.

If this doesn't work while we're out riding, I'll come back and ask again.

Thanks,
Larry

Re: Sena SMH10 mono?

Could you find a place in the right side of her helmet for the left speaker?

It seems to me that putting sound recorded in stereo in mono mode destroys much of the richness.

I suspect when you are completely deaf in one ear richness of music is an oxymoron.

Larry, I would contact SENA in this regard & ask what they would suggest....maybe pairing left & right wires together? no audio file but maybe!

Re: Sena SMH10 mono?

You can plug it into the computer and use the configure program and set it to mono if I recall correctly. Do the firmware update too while your there.
