Smile air filter

Well I am a little reluctant to post how dumb this mistake might be but hey I can take it. First I would like to say that living in Mexico with one of these machines is a trip, not in a good way. After fighting with hesitation issues and changing plugs, wires, fuel filter, oxygen sensor, rebuild or get cleaned injectors. Having the TPS and TVA changed and re-set by dealer, I was still not happy.
You have to understand that once I got it to idle and not die all the time and go down the road pretty good I was at least happier, what a comfortable bike. Problem was no dealer stocked an air filter for the bike here. We cleaned it out and it ran . Anyway on a recent trip to Colorado I purchased a new air filter and upon installing it yesterday it revves and sounds better than ever before.
So I guess what I am saying is check that filter along with everything else if problem,s arise. My manual states that a symptom of poor MPG is dirty air filter, I incorrectly assumed it could be kinda dirty but had no idea it was that critical.

Re: air filter

Sounds like you need to stock up on air filters. Glad it made a difference. EME gives a good (I think 20%) discount when you buy 3 or more air filters. I picked up three for my GT and will order three for the LT next.

Have ridden a Motorcycle in all 48
But lack DE, MA, RI and CT with the 2005 LT
