Just under 20K service

I have a '09 LT that has just over 18K on the clock and have had it for 2 years and just finished the service of the fluids.

Brake fluid was very dark. So I just figured all fluids would need to be done.

Coolant
Brake fluid
Engine oil
Transmission fluid
Final drive fluid
The EHCS fluid
Service Shifting Linkage

I am curious as to what others have spent at the dealer for these items. So I an petition to the wife for that value to spent on other items specifically suspension.

thanks.

Douglas

Re: Just under 20K service

the last quote I ever had was a major service about 8 years ago $1800.00 if the valve buckets did not need to be changed, that was extra. that was the last time a dealer touched my bike or didnt as was the case, I never took it back. currently my dealer is on $115 p/hour. they charge 2 hours lab just to take off and refit the fairings.

Re: Just under 20K service

So going by that it'd probably be $2500 in today's prices. Looks like this winter I will get the shocks! Thanks.. Linton

Re: Just under 20K service

In addition to the money saved, the feeling of "I did it myself" is priceless. Though that carries no value with the wife, haha. But, the confidence does lead to more money saved as you undertake more yourself in the future

Re: Just under 20K service

The EHCS does not have a service interval and most will run 5 years before enough leaks out and it will no longer lift. Just do not put more than 145 ml of oil in them or you risk damage to the case.
