The connector for the seat heater isn't really under tupperware. It should be on the top left rail of the rear frame near the bottom of the fuel tank, accessible, by lifting the seat. It's a white connector with a brown(-) and a green(+) wire.
If your bike has always been in AZ, someone may have decided to use the seat heat power for something else and snipped the connector off the seat to wire to whatever they needed ignition on, power for.
If the entire connector is gone they may have direct wired, eliminating the connector. You can run the seat heater from any key on circuit, be careful not to overload though. The wires on this bike are a little undersized. I run a couple of fuse boxes that are key on with relays and heavier wire to run all my add-ons. That would be the best way to power the seat if the circuit is in use for something else.
