How do you take the radio antenna cable off the mount arm?

I want to remove the radio antenna and mounting arm from the bike. The only thing I can't figure out is how to detach the cable from the mounting arm. Can any one help with this, Thanks

PS: I looked on the BWM maintenance CD I have but it does not show how to do it. I also did a search but could not find a post that removed the arm.
Thanks in advance

Remove the top case then the cover under the top case. See the blue circle.

Hope this helps: The plastic sleeve is a quarter turn counter-clockwise from the top and then it slips up the antennae. From there you can access the inside mechanical parts. That or what John said, depending on what you're asking.

Re: How do you take the radio antenna cable off the mount arm?

I recently looked at that, what I did was take out the 4 bolts that hold the arm(as in John's picture) and just placed the whole thing, after first taking off the antenna, where the alarm/immobiliser used to be. I never use a radio on/in any vehicle that I'm riding/driving. Besides,I've just made a rack to go where the top case usually sits, the antenna would just be in the way.

Footnote; After taking off the top case,I thought to myself, ummm.thats heavy,so I weighed it. It weighs 14kg,thats just over 30lb

Re: How do you take the radio antenna cable off the mount arm?

Thanks, I think with all your guys input, that I can achieve my goal.

PS What I'm trying to do is remove the antenna bracket but leave the antenna cable on the bike, This way if I need to put it back all I have to to is attach the cable to the bracket and bracket to the bike. I think Dean answered the one question that I could not figure out which is how to access the bracket guts where the cable attaches to the bracket so I can disconnect the cable from the bracket.

If you have done the canisterectomy there will be room to just stow the bracket without disconnecting the cable.

Thanks John problem solved, I did the canisterectomy this summer, Wish I would have done the antenna bracket then but it will be a good winter project. Thanks for the input.

I removed the antenna hardware. Then installed a folded dipole under the tour pk. Works well, do not use the radio much.
