Dash Removal Instructions GPS wiring

I am re-posting instructions on how to remove the Dash, covering the Speedo/Instrument Cluster. This will help if you need to install an after market GPS or need a 12v power that is key controlled.

I give full credit to John Baker--- I just added Photos to help.

You need to remove the windshield.

Pop off the chrome covers on the windshield--- prying from the middle side out--- They are spring loaded--- the lateral (out side edge) is fixed and will not pry open.

There are four screws holding the windshield on under those covers.

Then if you look along the top/front of the dash you should see four screws in the seam. Remove all 4.

There are 2 additional screws-- from the side--- where the Wind Shield Hinge is. (This is why you need to remove wind shield) You might need to Raise or Lower the wind shield hinge to see the screw.

Now the tricky 7th screw, it is located above the Instrument Cluster , behind the GPS mount on my bike. You might have a Map Light there if you do not have the GPS Mount.

If you have a GPS mount, you will have to remove the square plate from the mount to get behind it, The screw is deep, behind the Rubber and is Left of mid-line.

After that the dash Cover should lift off.

If you do not have a Map Light--- The Wires might still be there-- Mine were-- hanging to the Right side of the bike. This is a 12V key controlled wire. Worked great for my GPS
