Pinion Shaft Seal

Has anyone had problems with this seal? My boot is leaking again, switched to a different colored rear-end lube to find out if it's the pinion seal, or the tranny seal. Had the pinion seal replaced at 24K under warr, and one of the 2 is leaking at 30K. Any suggestions?

Just had mine swapped out, but my bikes got 82K on it know and AFAIK this is the first pinion seal.

Pinion Seal

Mine's leaking recently, but with 215k on the original seal I'd hardly call that a "problem". Leak is so slow I'll let it go 'til Winter.

BMW parts carry a two-year warranty. If the same thing is leaking again, take it back to the dealer.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
