Lighter and Faster, I Wish

I tried stripping my 2000 LT in order to make it lean and mean. I ran into some problems, like, the bike needs the gas tank and that big chunk of aluminum up front. Maybe someday just before the LT is ready for the bone yard I'll do some serious chopping, just to see if it can be done - nothing to loose. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I think my LT will outlive me.

Yeah, but its a VERY different ride to the LT.... my missus won't get on the back of the GT again after 1 ride, yet happily comes on longer trips on the LT... we've just finished a 5 day trip yesterday.

Sportsbike v Lux tourer... no comparison between the 2 in the handling characteristics.

Once I put a top case on and stopped pulling wheelies Jean will actually ride on the K1300GT! It handles surprisingly well two up.
