Latest ME880 not gripping

Has anyone else noticed that the latest ME880 from Metzler isn't as good at holding the road as the earlier ones? I noticed it even more in the wet weather, and another rider I installed one for has the same complaint.

How many miles have you ridden? All brands are slippery for the first 100-200 miles.

Re: Latest ME880 not gripping

I would check the date code as they discontinued the 880 for the LT some time ago and have now come out with the 888 replacement for it. May just have an old tire.

Re: Latest ME880 not gripping

Wait, ME880's ever had grip?

But seriously, might want to check the DOT code for date. I wonder if with the 888 on its way if some ancient stock is making its way out of the back of the warehouse.

Re: Latest ME880 not gripping

Just purchased a set of ME880's about two weeks ago.
As I recall when I checked the date code, they were both made in the 41st week of 2013.
