Driveshaft condition?

Just pulled the swingarm and found what looks like rubber bits around the central part of the shaft (see pics below). Is this normal as in it could be an original assembly residue, or am I looking at an issue with the driveshaft itself perhaps spinning on itself and melting rubber?

That may not be what you have as it looks pretty good compared to the melted ones I have seen.
