Tyre Pressures and other things ....

Well rode my new.... 14 year old K1200 LT home up to the 100 mark and its a sofa! Gear change is Poo ! Smokes for the first 2 miles if you leave it on the side stand , Shit! if the tyres are not 42 psi front and 48 rear..Pump them up guys (hard ) Gear change grates it needs stripping and lubeing .... Somebody ripped my aerial off! So I have found a unit to go in the top box ..... works a treat. Rear disk rattles it still works and will pass the the MOT ..... just noisy.... Stand need a lube took and some Vaseline on the springs stops the slap over bumps.

Fairing needs new fixings as the bolts some of the are not the right ones... and needs a good chassis clean. and who in their right mind hammerites the front forks for sleeve and the stand ?

Re: Tyre Pressures and other things ....

sorry mate no offense meant, your post reads like a statement not a question hence my response.
smoke is normal if bike is parked on side stand, it gives you a fright the first time you see it and some times it will and sometimes it won't.
tyre pressure well that's up to you, 42/48 seems to be the best pressure to prevent cupping on the tyres.
loose disk is referred to as "cowbell" stick that in the search lots of fixes will come up, I just put and ebc rotor on that was 12 years ago.
lots of info on how to remove and lubricate gear linkages
side stand dunno there is a rubber plug on the bottom of the heat sheald it may be missing when mine fell out I ziptied a piece of rubber tube the kick stand
have a look at these videos they will give you a lot of help also, and my name is not steve
