fuel leak

I was riding today when I began smelling gas. Finally pulled off the interstate to find gas leaking out of the right side of the LT. The leak stops with the engine shut off. Did a stupid thing and rode back home.
After searching the forum, I wonder if this might be a fuel disconnect problem. I am hauling it to the dealer in Columbus OH next week for repairs. If it turns out to be the disconnect, should I request it be replaced by a metal version? If so, do most dealers have these or where could I get one?
Thanks for your input.

No, the dealers don't carry them.

From www.mscdirect.com . Item #88080445 (2 each) and #88080486 (2 each). Be warned, they aren't cheap.

While you're at it, go to http://www.mcmaster.com/ and get you #9452K19. Industry standare -011 Size Bun-N. They are the o-rings that go on the quick disconnects. Package of 100 for $2.47.
