What's this Wire?

Putting in new battery and found a thin (22 AWG) BLUE wire at the front. It has a small black connector and goes into a taped wire harness.

I can't see a place for it to plug into.

What's it for or where's it go?

Can't seem to get photo to upload.?

It may be the charge indicator light lead to the alternator. That is a small blue lead. Turn on the ignition but do not start the engine and see if the light comes on. If it does not, then look in front of the battery holder at the rear of the alternator, the large wire to the right side is the battery connection, there is a Fast-on terminal to the left for the charge light lead.

If that lead is not hooked up, or the bulb is burned out, the alternator may or may not start charging when the engine is started. I had problems with that connector, and had my battery run down a couple times. After I found the problem I ALWAYS checked that light every time I turned on the ignition to be sure the light comes on BEFORE starting the engine.

That was it. I would have never looked up that far to find that connector, and everything up there is grey.

Thanks again.

David

David, you are one sharp fella. I hope you get another LT someday, but if you don't I hope you continue to stay around here!
