Re-installing the FD
I am curious about the shaft u joint at the FD. When I removed the FD, the U joint came with it, and the shaft is up inside the shaft housing, I went over the procedure as listed in the weep hole video for removing the drive, and didn't see anything about it. In the clymers the emphasis seems to be in total disassembly, and they talk about prying that U joint out of the FD. Is this necessary to reassemble the FD on the bike, do I need to take that U joint out of the FD assembly and slide it onto the shaft, then put the FD back on to it? Or can it be left on the FD, and slid back onto the shaft?
