Just cut out the template and CAREFULLY tape it on the rack using the directions. There is an order to placing the tapes that get's the template aligned correctly. Then just mark and drill the holes. 5/8" I believe...
The threads on the nut that came with mine weren't very clean. It was plated after it was cut and the nut wouldn't thread onto the stud. I had to re-tap the nut and chase the threads on the stud to get it together. But not too big a deal...
The biggest problem is getting to the wiring which is folded down and taped to the wiring harness for the trunk interior light. Because it's taped down it's a beotch to get pulled loose. Just pull the light out and you'll kind of see them folded back. Look with a flashlight. After that you just cut off the connector that comes on the trunk rack and install some spade lugs and wire it up...
Took me about an hour to do the install...Works fine, lasts a long time...
