Front footpeg cant be found for less than $160

My LT fell on its right when I was trying to put it on its center-stand. My foot slipped when I was avoiding stepping in an oil spot next to my bike and she fell on her right side. I was initially mad then got over it because it was only a broken foot-peg.

Then the worst part was finding that none were available one ebay and I knew it was going to be bad after that. I havent found anything yet for less than $160 and the one for 160 was without shipping and didnt really seem legit.

Does anyone have any available or know of any alternatives, maybe an aftermarket set for less. Mine is chrome but I would buy another one

Go to Beemerboneyard and get on their waiting list. They've had a few in the past.

Weld the bits together. Will be ugly but useable till you get a replacement.

I take it you're talking about the footpeg bracket and not the actual footpeg?

Re: Front footpeg cant be found for less than $160

I won't mention any names, but a friend of mine that some call "Hoss" had a get-off on a twisty mountain road hundreds of miles from home. The driver and Pillion left pegs snapped off. He was able to make a temporary fix with a large bolt and two nuts (one nut for each side of the plate) purchased at a local hardware store. The plate was toast, so he just had a hole drilled, at the local friendly BMW dealership (Big Twin in Boise, ID).

See pic.

BTW, he trolled eBay for a couple weeks, and got the left plate and driver's peg for $30!

Re: Front footpeg cant be found for less than $160

I had one welded at a local welding shop for $35 (shop minimum). It worked great till the durn thing fell over on its' right side again. Found a new replacement locally for $40.

Have a pro weld it, not an amateur. To borrow a phrase from a tire company; 'you've got a lot riding on it." You don't want it to fail going down the road with any weight on it. You think it hit the peg hard this time..........

Re: Front footpeg cant be found for less than $160

I ended up buying one from bmw chattanooga, the price was the best I could find at $136 shipped. I will still repair the other in a few months and then have a spare but I needed this bike to be ride able so hopefully it comes soon.

Re: Front footpeg cant be found for less than $160

I am surprised that someone here didn't have one as the plate is usually what breaks so there should be a bunch of loose pegs out there. I know one guy that has broken three of them.

Re: Front footpeg cant be found for less than $160

So I received the peg and it was not even the right one so I call the dealership back and the person I ordered it from must have been new or something. And it turns out that the correct one cost $170! So I think I will return this one and wait until I can fix mine or buy another used.

So does anyone that hasnt see this yet have a spare?

Re: Front footpeg cant be found for less than $160

contact the guys at Greentown Motorcycle Parts.....http://www.greentownmotorcycleparts.com/

They have an LT that is part of their salvage business. A friend of mine bought a main wiring harness for LT from them.

Note that these guys are currently away from the shop but will return after June 22.
