Today is the day

Just got back from watching my bike being assembled from the crate. The Crystal Grey is a very very very light silver. It takes on different colors as you look at it from different angles. A very good looking color.

Already found where I am mounting the GPS, Sirius Radio, Passport x50, and Autocom (using mount balls and mounting system from the mirror bosses). There is a great opportunity for someone like BMR Products or RCU Designs to use the air induction wing under the windshield as a mount. They could build a replacement piece that would have mount points (like the BMR CoPilot Shelf System).

Remus should have their GT system out and available in the coming weeks. And if you don't like the rubber mounted hand grips (that back and forth play that motorman was talking about), Wunderlich should have a replacement handlebar system soon.

I'll be picking it up tomorrow around noon. The dealership has asked for me to have it at BMW of North Dallas on Saturday. So if you want to come take a look, I should be there from 9am to about 2pm.

Question Congrats Jeff!

Have you decided how you're going to break it in yet?! I know how my next new bike's getting broken in. Just curious if you've thought about it.

I'm keeping the LT for now. I want to be sure the GT works for me before I get rid of the LT.

first usa ride report

Keeping the revs under 5 grand for now. 80 mph is about 4800 but i don't like to keep a new motor at the same rpm's for long. I find myself at 80 a lot so i wanted to see where the rev's were. Problem is I don't see myself riding much the next few day's. Just real busy but it sure is nice to walk past it in the garage.
Buy the way with the big windshield down there is plenty of air flow but put that baby up and it feels like the Lt. You get that wind that pushes your back. The motor feels different from the 1200s and that (for me) is a good thing. Still plenty of power but not that rip your arms out of the socket power the s has. the s pulls a little harder right of the bottom. The motor sound really cool almost like it has a turbo on it. Handling is amazing with the esa, the comfort setting when just riding around is plush, but put it in sport mode and it turns into a different animal. Leg room is good i had the seat in the low position and it felt OK, I'll try the high position next ride. Mind you i only have 65 miles on the bike but these are my first impressions. Oh buy the way there is no front end wobble.

Get in line mufugger.

I would not take a check from that man - you can tell by the grin on his face he's heading to Mexico - mucho fast! (and probably passing on double yellow lines all the way)

Guess this means I won't be getting that Concours after all. Damn.

Jeff doesn't pass on double yellow lines because we found out that it is "really illegal".

Question

Jeff, I am disappointed that you are so selfish as to ride the new bike for a couple days and not even take the little time necessary to give us a ride report!

We are all waiting with sweaty palms and nervous twitches!
