Cam Chain Jump Guard Recall

Has anyone heard that there is a BMW recall to repair the cam chain jump guard?

I heard there was something offical in the UK, but haven't heard of anything official in the States.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Re: Cam Chain Jump Guard Recall

I talked with the service department at BMW of Atlanta this morning. They confirmed that there is a factory recall on the cam chain jump guard and that I needed to schedule an appointment to bring it in.

Re: Cam Chain Jump Guard Recall

Mmmm...

I had it done in Mar2011 and my extended warranty paid for it along with defective timing chain.

Dare I ask to be reimbrused....nah that's fraud.

I did pay my own - wondering if that could come back to me? Probably not.

Re: Cam Chain Jump Guard Recall

I just paid to have it done on my last service. One more thing to add to the list of things I need to speak to them about. The service where they said my valves don't need attention yet but then when I looked at it with the GS911 it was due in 500 miles. I think that was close enough and should have let me know, my fault I wil check with the GS911 first now.
