K1200LT Buddy

The LT now has a stable mate!

Brought home a 2010 Red K1200GT from MaxBMW with less than 4000 miles . . .

Now I will spend the cooler months looking for stuff:

- tank bag
- windshield with a little better protection
- GPS mount for an old Garmin 376c
- bags or box for the back to hold more stuff
- bar backs and a seat
- larger grips - grip puppies??

I have driven the bike a few hundred miles and having been on an LT for 10 years I believe I
may need to go to school to learn how to ride this hot rod !!!

Re: K1200LT Buddy

Very, very nice Dan. Congratulations. I love the red color on that bike - one of my all-time favorite Beemers.

Correct me if I'm wrong: the second-gen side panel on your bike makes it a K1300GT, doesn't it? And that's a good thing, because the K13GT solved some of the issues with the original K12GT.

Re: K1200LT Buddy

Now make sure you study up on all the fixes that need to be done.

The GTs seem to be the ugly stepchild of BMW that they prefer not to talk about.

Re: K1200LT Buddy

Help, I was under the impression that K1200Gt series was replaced in 2008 with the K 1300 GT. So whazup with a 2010 K 1200 GT?

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
