Looking at 1300GT

Would like some opinions.

I am looking at a 2009 K1300GT with 6000 miles. Mint condition, all the bells and whistles.

Is 14200.00 a good price? What are the pro and cons of this bike?

I have owned an RT and currently own LT. Love my LT!!

Just rode the K1600GTL yesterday for about 30 miles. Nice, but even if I could talk the wife into it, I will wait for used one in a couple of years.

The GT will be an addition to the stable, but would like some feed back. Known problems, quirks, etc....

Re: Looking at 1300GT

Yes, that's a very good price for a low-mileage '09 K13GT.

The K13 bikes are pretty much sorted out, with a few minor dealer fixes that should already have been done on that bike.

Pros are a stunning 160 hp motor, and advanced DuoLever suspension that makes the GT very quick and fun to ride. Plus it's 200 lbs lighter than an LT, although a bit heavier than an RT.

Cons are that it has less fairing than an LT, and a more leaned-forward riding position. I solved those issues with bar risers, peg extenders, and an Aeroflow windscreen, so now I have a bike that's lighter, faster, and just about as comfortable as the LT.

Read through this forum, and also through the K12/13GT forum on K-bikes.com to get more detailed info.

Then go take one for a test ride and you'll know what to do.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
