Need Help With Paint Code (N41)

I have a 2009 K1300 GT in Royal Blue Metallic. I'm trying to get a part painted but the body shop is having a problem getting the paint code (N41) deciphered. Does anyone know the formula for this paint code. When he tries to get the code nothing comes up in his database nor are his paint suppliers able to help.

PS-I tried Color-Rite but they said they don't know the code either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Gerry......

Find a paint store that carries Spies Hecker brand paint, usually a DuPont jobber will carry it or have access. They have the formula for this color. Hope this helps!

Re: Need Help With Paint Code (N41)

When I bought my '06 GT, I had the topbox painted to match. Using the paint code, I ran into the same issues you're running into. It seemed nobody could sell me the paint using just the paint code.

Following the advise from my dealer, I sent a piece of the bodywork (the battery cover, IIRC) out to a place that mixed paint ... and they had experience mixing paint for BMWs. It was a pain in the butt, but in the end, it was worth it. The match was perfect.

If you're still not having any luck, send forum member David Taylor a private message. He takes stuff to a shop to get parts matched. He's in San Jose. He'll help you, being the nice guy and model citizen that he is.

Joe - you're ruining my rep, man!

San Jose BMW has a painter they use who is an absolute god when it comes to paint matching and doing an awesome paint job. I've had him paint match top cases twice, and you couldn't tell it from the factory paint job. He did one from pictures he took with a $100 point and shoot camera! Give them a call and they can get you in touch with him - 408-295-0205.

Re: Need Help With Paint Code (N41)

I appreciate all the help. The shop called today and they were able to find the breakdown of N-41 code. We''ll see when its all done if they get it right. Again, thanks for all the help.
