Exclamation K1300 GT Oil Filter

Just picked up an oil filter to change the engine oil in my 2009 K1300 GT and in typical BMW fashion the filter alone was $18! Anyone researched an alternative filter that meets or exceeds the specs BMW suggests?

Re: K1300 GT Oil Filter

Ouch! $18 for an oil filter -- FYI just searched and found K&N Filters for $14 - you can probably find similar through google....

Are you also going to change out your rear drive oil? In another post, a member mentioned that he changes that oil on 3k intervals as well.....

Re: K1300 GT Oil Filter

Chicago BMW, Max BMW, and other online stores show $14 for the oil filter. Some other dealers may mark that up a bit . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Exclamation Re: K1300 GT Oil Filter

I did change out the final drive lube as well. I just do it when I change engine oil.

Thanks for the info on K&N.
