A disturbance in the force!

Alright...I confess, I bought a new Honda Goldwing today! I love the bike and will be posting some pics and feedback soon. But don't worry, I will still be helping BMW riders with free service and such! And...I'm listing my GT in the classifieds for payoff only...which is a STEAL for someone, cause my wife won't let me keep both!

Please don't kick me off the forum!!!

So you heard I sold mine and just had to follow suit? I understand completely.
'Cept I got the new Concours. Then again, I'm not old enough to buy a GoldWing.

You bought a WHAT?

Well, as others have said, you are still a valued member here, even if you have become a heathen.

No matter how hard I try, I could just not see me sitting on a 'Wing. I am only 67.

Just be careful. Over here, Andy bought a GW and before he could get the seat broken in, somebody stole it from right in front of the house. Guess their Grandma needed a new rocking chair, & saw his sitting unattended.

Thanks David,

If you've never ridden one for over an hour, you ought to try it once. The GW does nothing for me to excite me when looking at it, but after riding it for about 50 miles, I began to absolutely LOVE it. The more I ride it, the more I like it. It really is a fine machine. Of course, it's BLACK and that makes all the difference! Now...don't you want a SMOKIN' deal on a great GT?????

But but but.... you were like... representing the GT. And now I have to figure out a way to visualize you on a Gold Wing.

I'm going to have to give this some thought.

OK, thinking over. Congratulations! Yes, the Wing is a great bike and I don't think there is a minimum age to be an owner!

Re: A disturbance in the force!

Hey Jack you can hide the GT from your better half at my place. I'll even keep it washed & ready to ride for ya. It might not make the grey hair go away from riding a Wing but it will feel like it did. My guess is now that you have a family two wheel sedan you'll rack up more miles than you did on the GT.

Re: A disturbance in the force!

Jack, say it ain't so. I felt a strange tremor in the force as I came through H'ville this afternoon. Thought it was the "Homewrecker" I had at Moe's, but that was not the case.

I hope you like your new ride. Give me a call. I'd like to see it one day.

You are correct my friend. As for others, it is impossible to compare (in a fair way) the GT and the Wing. They are "apples" and "Oranges". The GT is possibly the finest bike I have ever ridden. It even rides (suspension wise) smoother than the wing. But the more sporty seating position hurt my right wrist after some time on it and it is easier to get the wifey to ride on the freakin' barca lounger on the back of the Wing. Wing has great power...but the GT would scare the crap outta ya. The Wing is lower to the ground and being a shorter guy (height wise ), it just works better. My kid lost my camera, or I'd post some pics. Arrrg!

Hey Jack,

Congratulations on the Wing.

Since Honda make such a "reliable machine", what-ya gonna do with all those "dusty tools"

I already owned an LT before and though it was a great bike and introduced me to this community (which I love), it just wasn't for me. I bought the Wing and I am selling my GT. My wife just didn't like to ride the GT as much and the Wing offers everything I need in a touring platform.

Re: A disturbance in the force!

Jack, a few years back I worked with the HRC boys in Japan. They know how to screw together bikes. Soon you will get bored with that super slab thingy.

So when can I give you a check for that GT?

Ha... that may be true Rob! I do get bored real quick. 49 years old and take daily meds for ADD! But, I rode her for a couple of hundred miles today and no joke, it is one fine machine. Already made a couple of mods to her to "correct" some things and she's handling better than new!

Now...as for that GT -- well, you can write that check right now cause it's for sale! Check the classifieds!

He is from Austin Texas and is gonna fly out and ride back. This'll be his very first BMW. I plan on introducing him to the fine folks on this site. I still love hanging out here.

Re: A disturbance in the force!

This goes beyond a disturbance in the force. It started with Dave Dragon, I followed suit after two LTs with a black GL and many others joined the ranks before and after. It is one thing for the Mayan calendar to make such predictions but when Pastor Jack goes from a GT, I'm just sayin', you might want to make sure your affairs are in order.
Congratulations Jack on your new sled.
