As I've mentioned previously I've recently added an R1150GS to the "fleet". A friend was attending the UKGSer meeting in Ullapool, so I tagged along but decided to use the KGT rather than the GS as it hadn't been out on a tour for ages.
Rode up from north Wales to Erskine Bridge near Glasgow on the first day and stopped at a cheap hotel, it had a wonderful pool, sauna and steam room so was a perfect end to a days travel.
Next morning headed around Loch Lomond and the start of the stunning scenery. The road around the Loch is ... erm challenging
From there onto Fort William and then up to Ullapool. There was still snow on the peaks so it got a little cool over the passes
Stopped and took a pic of the commando memorial enroute
Next day took a ride out from Ullapool over some more stunning scenery
Decided to ride back on one hit, as the ride up had been easier than anticipated. I've cured the saddle soreness issue I'd had by getting a sheepskin for 10 UK pounds from
and underneath putting a 5 UK pound fleece camping pillow with literally only a breath of air in.
The result was utter comfort and not so much as a twitch of discomfort.
