Smile SportBIke Bug - Lusting after an K1200 R Sport

Looking @ a Low Mileage 2007 Cometic Blue K1200R Sport and lost my breath.
O M G... It is calling my name, but then so is a Triumph Sprint ..

I should probably be looking at a more Sport Touring oriented bike but the heart is pounding when I look at these bikes... YIKES.
Especially this 07 Blue K Sport.

I took the K for a ride and found the seat uncomfortable and the ergos
very unfamiliar as opposed to my DualSport comfort set up. Initial ride was not fun as nothing was familiar but the bmw switch-o-logy from my 05 K1200 LT

Wondering If I could make the transition..? In the end I suppose the windshield, seat and Hbars can be made to fit.

If it's calling you and you have the ability to get it, I say do it. A seat and bar risers are easy mods and then you get to have boatloads of fun on that little beasty.

Re: SportBIke Bug - Lusting after an 07 K1200 S Sport

I traded in my '99 LT on a '06 K1200S, mostly to scratch an itch I have for sportbikes. I put on the saddlebags, tankbag, 3" bar risers, Rick Mayer seat, throttlemeister and peg lowers and have ridden it 30,000 miles in a year and a half, including the MOA rally in Gillette. I have had had no problem with 650+ mile days. It is also the easiest BMW to service I have owned. The new 1300 has made the 1200 worth a lot less on the resale market, so you should be able to drive a hard bargain.
