18k service tomorrow...any advice?

I'm at 22k and thought I needed some service...guess I missed the 18 service...

So other than refusing the oil change ( I chnage it every 3k) any bits of wisdom to make sure they check?

I did my own rear gear oil change (I won't tell them).
And I did rear brake pad change (asked that they reset that damn idiot light....wire still intacted but no longer attached to the small plastic piece on the pad).
Also did the gear shift bearing add.

BMW's current recommendation is to get a valve check at 18K. Also to replace the spark plugs at that interval (which is trivial while you're checking the valves). The other possibility is changing the air filter which again is trivial once the body panels are off. They'll just get you for retail cost of the plugs and filter, plus a small bit of additional labor.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
