K 1300 G T O M G !!!!

A friend just bought a K1300TG & asked my to install a few farkles . GPS, Radar, Autocom, Hot wire for electrics, Motol ight, Cell phone & IPod leads. You know the normal stuff we like on a bike. Well after a few hours of steady work I had it back together and HAD to take a test ride. O M G that thang is FAST!!!! In less then 2 blocks and in 2nd gear I was at 80 mph with a slight twist of the grip. Now i see why everyone put "Knee grip" on the tank. it was all I could do to hang on. The best part is I get to deliver it to Ron later tonight & I'm taking the long way to his house.
Here are some Nekkid Pic of the girl.

I do not have the restraint to ride a GT safely. At best I would get lots of tickets.

Stevie, in case you haven't noticed, we love the GT. I WILL NOT ride a 1300 till I wear mine out. Ken's will be worn out in the next few months.

When I got home from the test ride I walked in the house and Sammie took one look at me and Said "NO !! we ain't gettin a new bike" I never said a word, she just knew by the BIG GRIN on my face.
BTW it saw 110 in less then 3 blocks and still had time to stop at the light with ease within that 3 blocks & I never got past 4 gear.

I am still trying to figure out what part of my 1200 is slow and boring..........or maybe it's me? I rode an OR back road event 2 weeks back & couldn't slow down, stop grinnin, or imagine how I would use more power any where.

New stuff always rock though.

Nada about the 12 is slow, nor boring. The 13 is just so much more refined and what the 12 should have been.

That is exactly why I did it on the QT.

I'm so ashamed

Besides, for the last 3 or 4 days I have been out on the VMax, leaving the poor GT sittin' idle in the garage.

You say weak like it's a bad thing. I'll let you ride mine, I know you won't like the red color so you can ride it out of spite to tell my how ugly it is with it's bright paint, goofy controls, tacky side vents, gobs of power.... OOPS!

Well, if you're going to leave it in the garage that's just about as good a reason as any!

Although, I never really thought of the GT as being the low power option. I guess you have a unique situation there. Now I am truly jealous.

Come on guys, anyone ever ridden a Kawasaki ZX-10R? It'll pass 100 in first gear. First time I did it, I found out why they shift without using the clutch...no time to pull the lever. Our GT's are quick, but not that quick.

Remember, most of these guys have come from 100 HP 850-lb LTs. Or Harleys. So in those cases, the GT is very quick.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Yeah, I didn't like Canyon Red, either.

The big difference is you can ride the GT across the US and walk without a hitch to your git along later.

Yes, as well as some quality time on a ZX-14. Both are extremely quick and quicker than the GT. But as far as large doses of usable power everywhere I want it (and then some) and a overall package that's actually usable for longer than 3-4 hours, I'll take a GT any day over those.

Somehow,"ugly" is a peculiar description. Now, that I ahve had my 1300 for a week, I find it getting prettier by the day. Performance is so way ahead of the 1200...

Thumbs up Re: K 1300 G T O M G !!!!

For those of you resisting the urge to get on one....

http://www.dualsportridersoflouisian...ighlight=k1300

But for the fact I am spending 17K on a new generator, it would have followed me home just like the R1200R did

Speaking of stuff, has anyone figured out what BMW has added as "side protection" on this bike? It still looks like an expensive drop on the fairings.
