Recall time on the K12GT

Getting 2 recalls done on the bike, the steering damper and a ring in the security system that has locked some people out of their bike. It'll take hours, I'm told, but I can wait. I have nothing else to do today. It was good to go riding today. It's been months, and I live in SoCal. Go figure.

Re: Recall time on the K12GT

The steering damper had a safety recall later last year. I called a couple months ago but they didn't have the parts in. I find it hard to believe it would really cause a safety problem, but better safe than sorry.

I just asked the service reps, and it's GTs and Ss, 2006 to 2008, but it's not all bikes; the VIN is needed to see if your bike is affected. Just call the dealer and ask.

Don't tell anyone, but I'm hanging out in the officer's lounge. I need to plug in my laptop. Shh.

Re: Recall time on the K12GT

Last time I checked with my dealer, there were a relatively small number of GTs that came under the steering damper recall. Mine wasn't one of them. Your dealer knows ...
