No E-Mail will ever ask you to verify your information. It's spam. Sorry.

Yeah, I know, but it was nice to imagine it being legit.

Re: OT: New Spam?

It's spam. Who wins contests that they did not enter? If you do a web search on "BMW automobile international awareness promotion" the top hits are these websites:

fraudwatchers.org
answers.yahoo.com
scam.com
complaintsboard.com

If it's too good to be true...

WARNING:
Do NOT click on any links in the email message. Do NOT give permission for anything to run. Do NOT install any software of any kind to "view the video", etc.

Sorry.

Thanks for the links and advice.

I didn't click anything and have deleted my "winning" email.

Re: OT: New Spam?

Yes I received about the same e-mail.
I called BMW, not the number noted in the e-mail, directly.

They didn't have any such promotion or such a employee. They did note that if such a promotion was offered it would be through a promotion company that they would hire and not through BMW directly.

The email address would've been the obvious tip-off for me. Why would BMW, a huge multinational company with web and email servers on pretty much every continent, have their email accounts with Windows Live Messenger

I've gotten so many of these offers I lost count a long time ago... Still, makes you dream it was true, doesn't it?

Cheers,
Lucky
