Where to get to the turn cancel signal wire

I'm just about done with farkeling my GT. Riding it is just getting more enjoyable now that I have the bells and whistles I want, it's riding great (no more loss of power when accelerating) and I have comfortable gear.

But there's a loose end. I bought a gadget that allows me to wire into a garage door opener, which I keep under the seat, and open the door with 2 taps on the turn cancel button. Getting at the wire requires taking off the tank, I think, and I just never got around to doing that since it was easy enough for me to keep a 2nd remote in my jacket pocket. Now, after buying some new riding gear, I don't have a convenient pocket to reach the opener, so I want to get my hardwired opener working. Can someone tell me where to get at the turn cancel wire on a 2007 K12GT?

Thanks in advance.

Or, you could mount the small garage door opener in the glove box with velcro. There's a little shelf near the top that works great for that. And, you can lock it if you're worried about it.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Which gadget do you have? Is it the Autoswitch? if it is it will not work with the can-bus system on the 2006+ GT's. they do have a version that is operated from a Pos 12v source though.

Hope that helps?

Arrgh. It is the model that won't work with the CAN bus. I know I was aware of this when I bought it, yet still somehow managed to get the wrong version.

Okay, I'll have to get the right version, and I suspect it'll be easier to hook up too. In the meantime, I'll go with Ken's suggestion.

On the non-CAN bus version, what have others connected the signal wire to?

Anyone want a free AS-5NG2 model autoswitch?

I tapped into the wire along the wiring harness where it comes up to the handlebar. Carefully open up the sheath and you'll find it. I'm using an Autoswitch to fire my Motolights.
