MPG error

Does anyone else see that their MPG is off? And is there a way like the LT to get it closer than what it shows?

Thanks,

Re: MPG error

MPG or MPH? The GT is consistenly within 3 MPH of the indicated speed as per my GPS. As for the MPG, The average MPG seems to be fairly accurate (depending on last reset, etc.) but the distance till empty is a waste of time; it's way too variable to be useful until about the last 50-60 miles of range left.

The shortest distance between two points is for people who don't ride!

Re: MPG error

I know that my speedo is 3 off, no big deal. But my MPG is off by about 5 on the low side. When I was doing the calculations from one of my road trips I got 50 MPG but was reading only 44-45 MPG from the computer, which was reset on each fuel load. My LT did that but after the tweak from the site is was just about right on.

I hear you on the distance to empty. I know that when it read 0 I have 1 gallon left. I just have not tried to see if I can actually use all of that one gallon.

Cheers,

Jim, et al,

See my posts in the following threads:

BMW Gas Mileage Spreadsheet:

It includes some numbers related to computer readout vs. measure mpg. In this case, my GT's display show better gas mileage than actual.

See the summary at the bottom of the post.
