"Loose" Handling Fixed!

Since buying my 07 Gt with only 1k on it (now 12k), it has seemed "loose" to me. This is compared to several previous BMW's and many other bikes. The handling wasn't terrible, but it just never felt "planted" and had gotten worse with miles. Especially noticeable in gusty winds on the "freeway."
Recently I decided while the front wheel was off for a tire change to grab the bottom of the "forks" and check for play. There was a noticeable knock and a small amount of movement front to back with the front end pointing straight forward. I pinpointed it at the upper ball joint. The entire front suspension system on these bikes is held in place by the two ball joints, so an out of spec ball joint can cause lots of handling issues.
My dealership ordered and installed the joint under warranty and I just wanted everyone to know how much difference there is....it's night and day, even though the part was not severly loose, it was enough to allow the front end to move around a bit. I inspected the old part and found it to be very loose but by hand was unable to duplicate the knock. It was MUCH looser than previous ball joints that I had replaced on another KRS I had. Remember those? Some came from the factory too tight.
I would encourage anyone with handling issues to look closely at and check the front end this way. FYI
