Talking Seen Her Up Close and Personal!

Well, I've finally seen her naked. Weds and Thursday, I installed the StarCom and all the accessory wiring associated with it. Also installed the XM30 mount. I just received my new HJC helmet and need to make sure it fits before installing the StarCom headset. After that, I just need to make sure everything is working properly and I'll be back in business.

The LT was a stately lady who was comfortable and could shake her booty went asked to do so, even if she is fat. But this little GT girl is down right nasty!

Jeez ... took ya long enough! I had my GT undressed the day after I brought her home. My wife just opened the garage door, rolled her eyes, then went back into the house. Priceless!

Purdy work. Amazing how easy they are to take apart, huh?

I had to wait to get all the stuff to install, just got it on Tuesday. I didn't want to have to take her apart twice.

Thanks and you are not kidding. The GT is soooooooooooooo much easier to work on and strip down than the LT.

No, actually I was short one small T25 screw. I placed them all on a card table in the order that I took them out. Came up one short! Either, one was missing to start with and I didn't notice or one disappeared. Were do they go? Luckily, I learned from the LT to keep a lot of spares.

You guys are animals! New bikes with parts all over the garage, I am afraid to think how "carefully" you must ride.

Wow! That's one clean bike. Can't ever remember mine that clean.....

I also seem to get that "universal rolling eyes" look every now and then with parts scattered all over the garage. Never happened with any other bike!

Well, I gotta admit that it's only 2 weeks old, but I've put 1200 miles on it since I got it. You'll notice my name is "Clean Machine". I can't help myself cuz I was potty trained too early. :

Well, to show you how sick I am, I had all the farkles waiting in my gearage. I used to go out there at night and fondle them.

Rode the bike home 76 miles and took it apart for major applications. Man, it's nice to work on something so clean.

Re: Seen Her Up Close and Personal!

Yep, same here. First day home and stripped for the essentials: bars, pegs, gps, and V1. The windshield was done before it left the dealer, then it was back that afternoon for a final drive flush. Second day was a new seat and then a long ride north. Third day was the 600-mile service and it hasn't been that clean since.

Thanks Gary,

Looks great Dick. If the wife doesn't take to the new-to-me LT pillion, and I still end up traveling solo, I may have to take a look at that new GT. It looks much better in many ways from the '04 GT I owned for about a year but couldn't get comfortable on.

The bar setbacks made a big difference, as did the tank grippers. I'm suppose to get my seat from Rick Mayer in early November. Then it should be ready for LD riding.

Re: XM 30 installaion

Well, I thought I'd post these picture of my XM30 installation. Not sure if it is going to do much good, as my Zumo Bluetooth function is toast and I had to send the whole unit back for exchange and my StarCom barely produces enough volume for me to hear anything. But anyway, ain't it pretty!

Nice job!

BTW - The TechMount handlebar mount for the GPS we chatted about works just fine with the Suburban Machinery bar risers. I installed a set the other day and the TechMount mounted perfectly with its hardware into the top bolt holes. Now if I can just get over the flu so I can go for a ride and try them out I'll be much happier!

Yep, it's definitely a "Blue Light Special", at least that's what the Georgia Highway Patrolman told me!
I left out of my friend's body shop last week, got on it jeeest a little to show off some and was a waven at um as I went by. GT did a wheelie and didn't even realize it! They told me the next day that the front tire was about a foot off the ground and I was just a waven and grinin'. : They thought I was a super stud. I just said: "Well, you should see what it'll do when I'm really tryin'". Acted just like I knowed what I wuz a doin'. HEE, HEE, Hah, Haaaaaaaw! :

Re: StarCom

Well, I talked with Jeff at Bike Effects and he assured me that the StarCom would work for me and that something's not right. As soon as the new Zumo get back, we are going to try to figure it out.

He says that he has had trouble with Zumos and sound before. He's thinkin' something else was wrong with the Zumo in addition to the Bluetooth, but said it could also be a bad cable.

Re: Seen Her Up Close and Personal!

I'm fixing to put a new O2 sensor on mine. Rumour has it that break in causes them to not work well and a new Bosch will take the flat spots out of the fueling.

Oh yeah, the throttle stop fix, too. It seems there's a restricting piston that takes some of the grunt out of 1st and 2nd. Details here

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Hi, Steve. Naw, that was a while back when when Doc was messing around with Thong Thang and we were wondering about him and planning an intervention. (howdy, Doc)

Howdy Carl,

I thought about trying to put a thong on the GT, but didn't want to make the young girls in neighborhood look bad!
