Question GPS mounts for the GT

Anyone use the BMW GT mount for the Zumo and how well does it work. Actually, at around $40.00 it's pretty inexpensive but would require a RAM ball mount to attach the Zumo. It's plastic, so I don't know how well it will hold up. Other recommendations would be appreciated.

Also, how and were did you mount your XM30? Pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The BMW mount works perfectly with the Zumo

Thanks Jeff,

I pretty sure that's what I'm going to do. I like the looks of the way the Zumo mounts using it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the XM30. I would like to be able to remove it with the Zumo, so I can also use it in my truck or car. I've seen a plate somewhere that attaches behind the Zumo cradle, but it looks like there will be lots of extra cable to deal with. If I mount it somewhere else and run the cable under the panels, I will not be able to remove it to use in my truck. Any suggestions or pictures.

The Gadget Guy mount looks good and provides a place for the XM30, but in the pictures in the thread sent by Jack, the Zumo seems to block the view of the instrument panel on the bike.

Also, there is a power plug between the battery and steering column that has a cover over it and it is zip tied to the frame. Is the plug the right plug to use for the Zumo (that way, I would not have to run the power cable that came with the Zumo to the fuse block)?

Thanks

Re: GPS mounts for the GT

I'm using a TechMount handlebar mount for my GPS. IT works very well with no vibration or other issues. AS for the XM puck I'm uing a Big Mak shelf. Some pics are at the link below.

Very nice and very clean. I wonder if my handle bar set backs will cause any problems with the GPS or mount brachet hitting the tank at full left or right lock?

Re: GPS mounts for the GT

Has anyone used this XM30 mounting bracket before and if so, how it it work? What did you do with the excess cable?

Look down toward the bottom at RAM Bracket for XM30.

Thumbs up Re: I bought the BMW GPS Mount for the GT today!

What a deal! $25.00, fits like a glove, looks like it came from the Factory. Now I just have to order the Cycle Gadgets XM30 mounting bracket. StarCom's on the way. Just wire it all together, and I'll be in bidness!

Rick Mayer saddle is on order. Linda T. is designing a tank bag for my GT that'll fit like a glove. Man this Farkle Fever is dangerous!

Pleeeease go to the classifieds and buy some of my old stuff. I needs mo' money. The medical bills for Farkle Fever are a pillin' up.
